How to get a short AI video made for your business
An AI video can explain your product or offer without a film crew, a studio or anyone on camera. Here is what to send, what to expect, and how to check the result before you approve it.

In short
- Send one clear message, your logo and real photos of your product, and say where the video will be posted.
- AI tools are good at scenes, voices and motion, and still weak at exact text, hands and the small details of a real product, so a person has to check every scene.
- Check that the package lists a note on which parts were made with AI, or ask before you order. You approve the video before the order is completed.
What an AI video is, and when it fits
An AI video here means a short video whose scenes, presenter, voice or motion were generated with AI tools, then cut, captioned and checked by a person. It is a good fit for a product teaser, a short explainer, a faceless clip for Reels or Shorts, or a simple promo for a sale or a launch.
It is a weaker fit when the video must show your real shop, your real team or exactly how your product works in someone's hands. For those, footage you film yourself and hand to a video editor usually gives a truer result. Many good videos mix the two: your own photos or clips for the product, and AI for the background, the voice or the movement between scenes.
What to send the seller
The brief is the part of the job only you can do. A short, specific brief saves a round of changes later.
One message
Write the single thing a viewer should remember, in one sentence. 'Our cleaning service now covers weekends' is a brief. 'Show that we are great' is not.
Where it will be posted
The platform and the shape: vertical for Reels, Shorts and TikTok, square for some feeds, wide for a website or YouTube. Say whether people will watch it with the sound off.
Your real material
Your logo, your brand colours, and clear photos or short clips of the product from a few angles. Real pictures keep the product true to life.
The exact words
Any text that must appear exactly: the offer, the price, the website address. Ask for it to be typed in the editor, not generated, so it stays sharp and correct.
What to avoid
Claims you cannot back up, words your industry avoids, and anything that must not appear, such as another brand's product.
What is possible, and what is not yet
AI video tools change quickly, so treat this as a rough guide and ask the seller about your exact idea before you order.
- Usually works well: moving scenes from a written idea, a photo brought to life with gentle motion, a stock AI presenter or voice reading your script, and short stylised scenes.
- Often needs care: hands, faces in close-up, lip movement and long unbroken shots, which can look odd. A careful seller drops the takes that look wrong.
- Hard to get right: readable text inside generated scenes, logos, labels and small product details. These can come out bent or scrambled, which is why names and prices belong in the editor.
- Not in a standard package: copying a real person's face or voice. That needs the person's written permission, and many sellers will not do it at all.
How long it takes and what it costs
Typical gigs here price a basic package of one short video at $20 to $70, with a delivery time of 2 to 3 days. Each gig shows its own prices and delivery times, and those are the ones you pay and plan around.
Delivery time counts from when work starts, and work starts once your payment is confirmed and the gig's questions are answered. If you have a launch date, say so in the chat before you order, and leave room for a round of changes.
How to check quality before you approve
Watch the delivery on a phone first, because that is where most people will see it. Then go through it slowly, once with sound and once without, and ask yourself:
- Does the opening say who it is for or what it offers?
- Is every word spelled right, and are the price, the offer and the web address correct?
- Does the product look like the real one: its shape, its colour, its label?
- Do faces, hands and mouths look natural in every shot?
- Can you read the captions, and do they sit clear of the app buttons at the edges?
- Is the music from a licensed source, or one you supplied?
If something is off, ask for a revision and point to the exact moment. Each package lists how many revisions it includes. A delivery you do not answer is accepted automatically after 3 days, so set time aside to review it when it arrives.
Labelling AI-made content
Some social and ad platforms ask you to disclose realistic content that was made or changed with AI, and their rules change from time to time. Check the current rules of each place you post before you publish.
SkillSellUp does not detect AI-made content automatically and does not add a label to your video. That is why the package matters: check that it lists a note on which parts were made with AI. If it does not, ask the seller in the chat before you order.
Whatever the rules say, never present an AI presenter as a real customer or a real member of your staff. Viewers should not be misled about who is speaking.
Before you order
- I can say the video's one message in a single sentence.
- I know where it will be posted and which shape it needs.
- I have my logo, my colours and real photos or clips of the product.
- I have written out any text, price or offer that must appear exactly.
- The package lists the length, the format, the revisions and a note on what is made with AI, or I have asked.
- I have the right to use everything I send, including any music.
- I know the date I need it by, with room for a round of changes.
Questions people ask
Can the AI video use my face or my voice?
Only with your clear permission, and only if the seller offers it. Standard AI video packages use stock AI presenters and voices. Ask in the chat before you order, and never send someone else's face or voice without their written permission.
Who owns the finished video?
Once the order is completed and paid in full, our Terms say the finished work is yours to use for any purpose. Music, stock clips and fonts inside it stay under their own licences. Generated clips also follow the licence terms of the tools used, so ask the seller which tools they used if you plan to run the video as a paid ad.
Will an AI video get me customers?
No seller can promise that. Views, clicks and orders depend on your offer, your audience and where the video runs. What you can check is the video itself, against your brief, before you approve it.
What if the delivery does not match what I asked for?
Ask for a revision first and say exactly what to change. Your payment is held until you approve the delivery. Refunds are guaranteed under the written Refund Policy and paid by SkillSellUp, not left for the seller to agree to.
How paying works on SkillSellUp
