How reviews work
Reviews help the next buyer decide. This page explains who can write one, where it comes from, and what sellers and administrators can and cannot do to a review.
In short
- Only the buyer of a completed order can review that order, once.
- No seller can edit or delete a review about them. A seller can reply once, in public.
- An administrator can hide a review that breaks the rules, and a written reason is kept every time.
Who can write a review
- The buyer who owns an order can review it once it is completed, and only that order. There is one review for each order.
- The review window is 30 days from the day the order is completed.
- A review has a rating from 1 to 5 stars and a written review.
- A review from a completed order is published when the buyer submits it.
Review invitations
- A seller can send a link to a past client. The client writes one review of that seller profile, for one of its gigs.
- An invited review has no order on this site behind it. That is why an administrator reads and approves it before it appears.
- Only a buyer account can use an invitation.
How a review is shown
- A review shows the writer's first name and the first letter of their last name. A name that looks like an email address or a phone number is shown as Customer.
- A signed-in person can mark a review as helpful. Each person has one vote for each review, and nobody can vote on their own review.
What a seller can and cannot do
- A seller cannot edit or delete a review written about them.
- A seller can reply to a review once, in public, beneath the review.
- A buyer cannot edit a review after posting it, so what you read is what was written.
Reviews that look wrong
- A buyer review needs a completed order on this site, so it cannot be written without one. The only other route is an invitation, and an administrator approves those first.
- An administrator can hide a review that breaks the rules. A written reason is kept on record every time.
- A hidden review is not deleted. It stays on record and an administrator can put it back.
- If you think a review is wrong, write to [email protected] and tell us which one.
