How sellers are verified
Nobody lists a service on SkillSellUp just by signing up. A person applies, an administrator decides, and every public profile and every gig is checked before buyers see it.
In short
- An administrator reads every seller application and decides.
- An administrator checks each public profile against a written list and reads every gig before it goes live.
- Verified means we checked what we show you. It is not a promise about the result of any order.
The steps before a gig goes live
The person applies
A buyer with a confirmed email address applies from their account. The form asks for the name buyers will see, the kind of work, skills, languages, country, years of experience and a link to examples of their work.
An administrator reads the application
An administrator approves or declines it. A person who is declined may apply again with better details.
An administrator checks the public profile
Before a seller's profile goes live, an administrator checks it against the written list below. A seller cannot publish their own profile.
An administrator reads every gig
A seller cannot publish their own gig. A gig must meet minimum content standards before it can be sent for review, and an administrator reads it before it goes live.
Changes are reviewed too
Changes to a live gig or profile are reviewed before they show. What you see stays as it was until the change is approved.
What an administrator checks on a profile
This is the written checklist an administrator works to.
- The photo is the seller's own face, or a real logo or avatar. Not someone else's picture.
- The name is not another company's or a famous person's, and does not copy a sibling profile.
- The headline and bio claim nothing untrue: no qualification, years of experience, awards or clients the seller does not have.
- The country is where the seller is, or where the work is done.
- The category fits what the bio says, and the bio is not copied from another profile of the same person.
What a seller can do
- Show a public profile and gigs once an administrator has approved them.
- Chat with you before and during an order, and send a custom offer with a price and a delivery time.
- Deliver the work on your order page.
- Reply once, in public, beneath a review about them.
What a seller cannot do
- Publish their own profile or gig. Only an administrator does.
- Take your payment. You pay SkillSellUp, and the chat hides phone numbers, email addresses and links.
- Edit or delete a review written about them.
- Pay for a better place in the results. It costs a seller nothing to join, and there is no feature that sells visibility.
- See your real name, email address or phone number. Sellers see your username.
What verified means, and what it does not
- It means an administrator read the application, checked the public profile against the list above, and read each gig before it went live.
- It does not mean we promise the result of any order, or that every buyer will like the work.
- Your protection is the process around the order: the payment is held, you can ask for revisions, you can open a dispute, and the written Refund Policy applies.
Questions people ask
Who checks the sellers?
An administrator at SkillSellUp reads every application, checks every public profile and reads every gig before it goes live. A seller cannot publish their own profile or gig.
Does verified mean the work will be perfect?
No. Verified means we checked what we show you. It is not a promise about the result of an order. If the work does not match what was agreed, you can ask for a revision, open a dispute, and the written Refund Policy applies.
Can a seller change their profile after approval?
Changes to a live profile or gig are reviewed before they show. What you see stays as it was until the change is approved.
Can I see who I am buying from?
Yes. Every gig names its seller, with a public profile and reviews you can read before you order.
Can a seller pay to rank higher?
No. It costs a seller nothing to apply or join, and there is no feature that sells visibility. Only an administrator can mark a gig as Featured.
